Thirteen years ago, I was writing stories before work, after work, on lunch breaks, and anywhere else I could steal an hour. At the time, I was working a full-time job, trying to be a father, trying to pay bills, and somewhere in the middle of all that… trying to become a professional writer. Like a lot of aspiring authors, I started with passion. What I didn’t have was a system. I had notebooks full of ideas. Half-finished manuscripts. False starts. Story openings that went
